金戒光明寺の山門は江戸時代末期に建立され、高さがおよそ23メートル、８階建てのビルに相当する。
山門に掲げられている「浄土真宗最初門」の額は、後小松天皇の宸筆であり、普段は見られない楼上には釈迦三尊像、十六羅漢像が安置され、天井には「蟠龍図（ばんりゅうず）」が描かれている。

The colossal two-story Sanmon gate at the entrance of the Kurodani, Konkai-Komyoji Temple was built in 1860 (late Edo-period). It is approximately 23 meters high, equivalent to an eight-story building.
The wooden plaque hung from the eaves of Sanmon gate carved with “First Gate of Jodo Shinshu.” is in the handwriting of Emperor Go-Komatsu.

On the second floor of the Sanmon gate, which is usually unseen, the Shaka Triad and the sixteen Arhats are enshrined, and the ceiling was painted with “coiling dragons.”
